Over 100 years old, this vintage Gibson banjo has stood the test of time and is a testament to the company’s sales pitch at the time which stated "Instruments for a Lifetime". I guess they were right.

This banjo is structurally superb, cosmetically excellent and plays great. This is an early example with a wooden perch pole and a single co-ordinator rod.  The headstock logo is no longer visible, possibly painted on these early versions, however, the serial number stamped to both the hoop and perch pole are clearly visible and original hoop label is present and correct.

The original arm rest and scratch plate are in excellent shape and all tension rods, nuts and adjusters are working without fault.

The fingerboard is undamaged and the 24 frets are in excellent condition, with remarkably good fret work. Tuners and tail piece are original. The only part replaced is a securing screw for the scratch plate, however, the original screw is included in the case.

The case is not original but is a good condition vintage case, in keeping with the age of the instrument.
