Pre-owned in good condition, cosmetically the guitar shows some ageing and signs of use, only to be expected of a 42 year old.

Supplied with a retro hard case. Please note, the screw on bridge cover was removed many years ago and is not included in the sale.

There are some light scratches and tiny dings to the body, the black backing on the clear scratch plate is coming away around the screw hole areas, some of the screws are light corroded, there is a small crack to the corner of the plastic control panel, standard lacquer cracks running from either side of the neck pocket and there is light wear to the frets, predominantly from frets 1-6, then from 7 onwards, the wear becomes almost non-existent.

Most importantly, the guitar plays and sounds great with a pro setup, superb action and what were advertised in '77 as high output pickups, really are just that. They perform great and there's lots of tonal variation with the pickup switching combinations.

The guitar is known as Transitional Custom, as it was only produced in this form for a few months, before the better known Masquerader Custom was released later in 1977. The main differences are the pickups being mounted directly to the pick guard and the size of the pickguard was larger than the later Custom models.
