There is some aging and there are signs of use. The binding is ageing with hairline cracks and the lacquer is darkening in places all the way around the binding (see pictures). Other signs of ageing are some small lacquer cracks in various areas. Marks from use include a couple of slightly deeper scratches on the back of the body (see pictures) and some very small chips around the edges.

The guitar is completely original, no alterations or modifications and the electrics work without fault.

The Bigsby is in superb condition, works smoothly and the guitar stays in tune well.

Controls on this '71 example are as follows: - Master Volume, Neck Pickup Volume, Bridge Pickup Volume, On/Off Kill Switch, Pickup Selector Switch, Tone Colour Switch.

The only non original part is the nut and bolt holding the pickguard. These were swapped out for new.

Fret wear is extremely minimal and the frets appear to have had only minor use. The guitar has a pro set up, the action is superb and the intonation is spot on.

In summary, it's a genuine original version of one of Gretsch's finest guitars. A good find in this condition.
